Ultrastructure
As related to diatoms, 'ultrastructure' typically refers to the morphological features of the the silica cell wall that are observable with a scanning electron microscope.
Undulate
Undulate often refers to the wave-like margin of some diatom taxa.
Uniseriate
Taxa that possess a single row of areolae within a stria are termed 'uniseriate'. Striae may also be biseriate or multiseriate.
