The 21st North American Diatom Symposium (NADS) will be held from 14-18 September 2011 at Flathead Lake Biological Station near Polson, Montana. Join international participants to present work on all aspects of diatom investigations including climate, biodiversity, evolution, ecology, systematics, biological assessment, and nanotechnology. This year’s meeting will focus on “Diatoms on the Crown of the Continent”. A special lecture discussing the natural history of the area will be presented by Dr. R. Graetz, University of Montana. Plenary speakers will include Dr. Richard Crawford and Paul Hamilton. Long time local expert, Dr. Loren Bahls will lead a field excursion to explore Glacier National Park.
